Elizabeth Hyatt,MSW, LCSW

Ms. Elizabeth Hyatt is a Social Worker with more than 15 years of clinical experience. She graduated from Fordham University with a master’s degree in social work and is currently licensed to practice in both, North Carolina and Connecticut. For most of her career, she worked in a hospital emergency department as a crisis intervention clinician working with children, adolescents, and adults who presented with acute mental health or substance abuse problems. She also has experience working in an inpatient psychiatric unit. Additionally she has provided psychotherapy to individuals struggling with anxiety, stress management, depression, challenging life transitions, health and medical issues, complex relationship issues, anger management, substance abuse issues, and grief. She uses a combination of evidence-based therapeutic styles, empathy, compassion, and a bit of humor in treating people, to help them overcome obstacles and focus on their strengths. She realizes that individuals choose therapy for many different reasons, and therefore is adept at tailoring her treatment style to meet the needs of each individual. She especially values the importance of self-care and uses this philosophy in her focus on a person’s mind and body health as an integral component of their change and healing processes.
On a personal level, Ms. Hyatt has lived in California, Connecticut and now North Carolina. She enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, walking outdoors, going to the beach, and bike riding. Recently she has begun to learn to play Pickleball and golf! She also loves to cook, try new recipes, binge on Netflix, read a good novel (or listen to audiobooks!). Along with her husband, she loves to travel and create new memories and traditions with their family and friends.
